Beijing is one of the world’s most intriguing cities. It has a area of 16,808 sq. km (about 6,500 sq. miles), stretching 160 kilometres from east to west and over 180 kilometres north to south. The area has 18 districts and its population is about 12 million. Formerly known as Peking, it is the capital city of China.

If your visions of Beijing are centred on rows of Maoist revolutionaries in buttoned-down tunics performing exercises in Tiananmen Square, put them to rest: this city has embarked on a new millennium rollercoaster and it's taking the rest of China with it.

While in Beijing, you will see great landmarks and experience the sights and smells of the city. You will see the Great Wall at an area with limited tourist action, stroll through the Forbidden City, eat at unique, authentic restaurants and play golf at one of China’s top courses.
