“One of the things that theatre does best is to draw us into a secret – either
revealing it to us as the characters themselves find out, or letting us in on it
early so we can watch the proceedings from a wonderfully omnipotent standpoint.
This season’s playbill is full of secrets of both kinds, covering all the really
interesting stuff – sex, money, politics and even murder!” All will be revealed in 2008 – come and be a part of it – and don't keep it a secret!” Jackie Maxwell, Artistic Director |

Tuesday, June 24 – Early morning departure for Niagara-on-the-Lake
from the National Gallery of Canada. A gourmet box lunch prepared by the NAC’s “Le Café” will
be served enroute. Late afternoon arrival at the Prince of Wales Hotel, our home for the next two nights. Located in the heart of historic Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Prince of Wales is an oasis of Victorian elegance filled with 21st century comforts. After a Welcome Buffet Dinner at the hotel, transfer to the Royal George Theatre for Shaw’s Getting Married. Marriage à la Shaw! The bishop’s daughter is getting married today. Or at least she was until she and her groom begin to have their doubts. A witty, provocative and thoroughly modern look at this venerable institution. After the performance, return to the restaurant in the hotel for a mouth-watering dessert and coffee. LD |

Wednesday, June 25 – Following breakfast at the hotel, depart for
a tour of Niagara Falls, including the Horseshoe, American and Bridal Veil Falls,
The School of Horticulture, The Floral Clock, Clifton Hill, Old Scow and the Skylon Tower. Return to Niagara-On-The-Lake in time for lunch on your own in one of the delightful restaurants of the town. Meet at the hotel to transfer to Festival Theatre for a matinee performance of Wonderful Town. Sisters Eileen and Ruth arrive in New York City in 1935, fresh off the bus from Columbus, Ohio. Lucky for them, they’ve landed in Greenwich Village, where a cast of colourful characters greet them. New York never seemed more charming, vibrant or fun as the sisters slowly come to discover what wonderful things life can really bring in this town. Following dinner on your own, transfer to Festival Theatre for the evening performance of An Inspector Calls. A spring evening, 1912, and the prosperous Birling family has gathered for an intimate dinner when a police inspector unexpectedly calls, looking into the death of a young woman. Skeletons come clattering out of the closet and a remarkable web of connections unfolds. Transfer to hotel following performance. B |

Thursday, June 26 – Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Transfer to Buffalo for guided tours of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin Martin House, his greatest Prairie House, and Trinity Episcopal Church with its magnificent LaFarge and Tiffany windows. The Martin Complex, consisting of the Darwin D. Martin House, the George Barton House and a modest two-story cottage known as the Gardener's Cottage, is considered to be of extraordinary historical significance because it was designed, not as a single residence, but as a group of interrelated and connected buildings, the only such occurrence in Wright’s 72-year career. Lunch at Harry's Harbour Place Grill with its spectacular view of the Niagara River. Late evening arrival in Ottawa. BL |
