Wednesday, April 28–
Breakfast on your own, followed by a tour at
the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, the first building
of its kind in Canada; a theatre built specifically for opera and ballet performances
with the finest level of acoustics. Lunch at c5, located atop the world-renowned Michael Lee-Chin Crystal. In its May 2008 issue, Food & Wine Magazine listed c5 as one of their worldwide “10 Best Restaurants with a View.” After lunch, a guided tour of the newest galleries of the Royal Ontario Museum. A stunning structure of interlocking prismatic forms, the $250 million Michael Lee-Chin Chrystal renovation project by renowned architect Daniel Libeskind creates modern, luminous and accessible interior spaces that house eight new galleries including Canada’s largest hall for international exhibitions, retail shops, restaurants, special event spaces and a graceful new entrance and lobby. Return to hotel for dinner on your own. This evening, depart for the Four Seasons Centre and a performance of The Flying Dutchman. The Flying Dutchman is based on the old legend by the same name, where one sea captain is cursed to sail for all eternity. Once every seven years, he is allowed to come ashore to search for love. The Dutchman must find a woman to love him for all eternity to break his curse, and he may or may not have found that in Senta, the daughter of another captain. |
